Frozen Orange Juice Concentrate (FCOJ)

As we discussed at the aseptic orange juice concentrate section, the difference between aseptic or non-aseptic process takes places at the final filling section. When the orange concentrate arrives to the final packing station and collected in the feeding tank (also called balance tank or buffer tank), if an additional heat treatment is not performed and if the product is not packed with avoiding contact with air, then this product is named as non-aseptic orange juice concentrate.

As the organisms are not completely destroyed, but minimized, the final non-aseptic orange concentrate must be quickly transferred into the cold storage in order to avoid further growth of yeast and mold. Frozen orange juice concentrate can be stored for 2 years under chilled or frozen conditions without opening the bulk package. Non-aseptic, or frozen orange juice concentrate has a lighter color with respect to the aseptic product, but the storage and transportation costs are higher because of the requirement for refrigerated conditions.

We would like to hear about your non-aseptic frozen orange juice concentrate inquiries from 5 gallon pails (buckets), 55 gallon drums (barrels) and 220 gallon totes (IBC), and even up to much larger volumes for multiple truck load or container load quantities with a year-round supply.
